What is the process for that an participant needs to follow to be approved for SDA rental?

Hello To all our clients who are following the NDIS SDA properties and who like to know more about the needs of the participants and their involvement with the NDIS and filling their needs.

Let’s explore how Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Individualised

Living Options (ILO) can turn their dream into a reality.

UNDERSTANDING SIL: A Comprehensive Guide

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is the NDIS’s answer for participants with higher needs. Many SIL participants require 7-day-a-week care including overnight support. It includes crucial support such as personal care and meal preparation, fostering skills for independent living. This option is ideal if you need significant support, whether living alone or with others.

Individualised Living Options (ILO) could be your pathway if you’re seeking less intensive support or considering a share house setting. It’s suitable for participants who are:

  • 18 or over, or 17 and planning for the future.
  • You need daily home support for at least 6 hours.
  • You’re proactive in designing your living arrangements.

However, ILO might not fit your needs if:

  • You’re under 18, except for forward-thinking 17-year-olds.
  • Your daily support needs are less than 6 hours.
  • You require 24-hour rostered support or frequent overnight aid.

Positive Income Properties SIL Providers

Navigating the options for SIL and ILO begins with having professional and proactive providers who seek participants and work with them and their carers to be able to locate them in a Positive Income Property that becomes their home. We have a national selection of top end SDA suppliers who we meet on a regular basis to discuss our properties, the current state of supply and location needs and over building in areas.

Call or email us to discuss our process that is attached below:
